Filipino Music Movement Pre-Grammys Kamayan Lunch (Inigo, P-Lo, Ruby Ibarra, Jaime Kailani & More)

When: Saturday 2/9/2019

Who: 40 mainstream music industry professionals in music & supporters of Filipino artists alongside artists from the Bay Area, Philippines & LA like Inigo Pascual, P-Lo, Ruby Ibarra, Jonathan Manalo, Jaime Kailani, DJ Flict & DJ Icy Ice.

Why:
It’s our time to come together to bring Filipino music to the world stage. In 2019 already, Catriona Gray won Miss Universe, Darren Chris won a Golden Globe. H.E.R is nominated for 5 Grammys, Bruno Mars just finished a 200+ city global tour & the Filipino food movement is in full swing with restaurants popping up all over the world with audiences of all ethnicities. With over 110M Filipinos across the world as our word of mouth street marketing team & network, we can tap directly into our target mainstream audience of 2B Millenials globally- highly millennial populated areas include the US, China, India & Brazil. Millenials are 27 percent of the 7.4B people today between 19-37. 58 percent of Millenials live in Asia, 13% in sub Saharan Africa. In absolute terms, India, China, the United States, Indonesia, and Brazil have the world’s largest Millennial populations.

I know firsthand the power of this audience because when we launched MySpace.com to later becoming the #1 website in the world with over 200M+ users. The Golden State Warriors have said that 48% of their FB are Filipinos and that is why they heavily support the community with Heritage nights. The LA Dodgers sold 4,600 tickets on Filipino Heritage Night last year.

Let’s show the world not only our consumer entertainment and sports buying power, our incredible talent & music across genres, sold out concerts & global audience. For example, reggaeton dominates the charts on YouTube and Spotify from one island – we have 7,100 of them. 😉

How:
Escaping our colonial, crab-theory mindset and bringing together the global mainstream & local Philippines artists, DJs, producers, talent bookers/venues, managers, publicists, record label executives, agents, restaurant/retail owners & influencers to work TOGETHER for a common goal – bringing Filipino talent to the world stage by not only providing our talent but opening our network, distribution & music production resources to one another to an elite trusted community.
